As I said at the beginning, global warming is a serious problem and all people must work together to solve it. From this project, I learned many things. The most important benefit from this project is that I believed in something called global warming and I saw how it is very dangerous and big crisis. I learned the meaning of the global warming and the causes of it. Also, I learned how it can affect the world and what it is effects. Moreover, I read many articles about the role of United Arab Emirates in solving global warming and what it is doing to save the people and the environments from this problem.
The UAE is trying to protect the environment and ensure public safety by all possible means. Many steps have been taken to solve the problem of global warming. Cars are great polluters, so they should all be fitted with converters which remove many of the harmful gases from the exhaust of the car. The less we use our cars, the less pollution they cause and then less high temperature in the atmosphere. There is no need to use our cars for short journeys. And why not walk or use public transport? Another thing is that power stations that burn coal or oil to produce electricity send a lot of CO2 into the atmosphere. The less electricity we use, the less electricity power stations have to produce. Do we need all those lights on? Do you need all these ACs on? Why not has a shower instead of a bath to save the extra electricity needed? Another action is that glass bottles, waste paper and metal cans can be recycled. Making new paper from waste paper and cardboard not only saves trees from cutting but also reduces the level of CO2.

This article (from the above link) talks about a survey called “Online Consumer Opinion Survey,” conducted last November by a multinational consumer research group, covered 25,408 Internet users from 47 countries in Europe, North America, Asia Pacific and the Middle East. In this survey, they asked people if they ever heard about global warming. This survey was conducted before the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change released a report that said that man was very likely causing global warming. According to the results of the survey, Filipinos with access to the Internet were the people most aware of global warming, while those least aware were from the United Arab Emirates who said they had never heard about global warming. In my opinion, the UAE population is very interested in global warming and the proof of my words is that United Arab Emirates was from the first countries that have singed the 2004 Kyoto Protocol. Another proof is the next article (from the second link) which talks about making Abu Dhabi free from carbon dioxide and making it zero-carbon city. This carbon is the main cause of increasing the atmosphere temperature.

When fossil fuels are burned, they release mostly carbon dioxide which is increasing the greenhouse effect. They also release two other harmful gases and these are sulphur dioxide and various nitrogen oxides. As soon as these harmful gases mix with clean clouds, they form acids and this then falls as acid rain. Cars and power stations are the main causes of acid rain and that is because they use fossil fuels which release carbon dioxide and other gases. Acid rain has many bad effects on the environment. The most essential one is that this type of rain kills trees. Every one knows that the main function of trees is to filter the air and that means taking carbon dioxide and releasing oxygen which is the gas of life. Therefore, when the trees die, the average of carbon dioxide gas will increase at the atmosphere, and subsequently more heat will be produced.
Many effects can result because of the changing in the temperature. An increase in the average temperature will affect the weather, the seas and the land. Warm weather will bring more evaporation and, therefore, more rain. In addition, the ice at the North and South poles may begin to melt as a result. The level of the seas may rise, flooding and destroying the nearby lands. Another consequence is the acid rain. When fossil fuels are burned, they release mostly carbon dioxide and other poisonous gasses. These harmful gasses react with the rain and cause acid rain. This is a type of dangerous rain which escapes into the land and reaches to the plants and when the animals eat these plants, they will die. One more effect is the loss of biodiversity which means the variety in animal life. Many animals can’t adept with the new weather, so they will die and we will lose many important species of animals.
Overpopulation means that people increases rapidly and continuously. This creates big problems in the environment. By increasing the number of people, they will use more cars and need more factories and industries to supply them with their needs. These cars and factories need fossil fuels such as oil, petrol and natural gas to work. The burning of fossil fuels has greatly increased the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere. The layer of CO2 is getting thicker and thicker, and the world is getting warmer. Also, the non-renewable energy resources are rapidly used up. Moreover, more and more waste is being produced by the people and this waste can cause more pollution which affects the atmosphere and the earth’s temperature.
Each disaster or mayhem around the world occurs because of many causes and no thing happens without cause or reason. Global warming is a big disaster which is caused by many reasons. Overpopulation is one of the most important causes. The world population is growing in number rapidly and this increasing not the only pressure on the environment but also improving living standards to supply people with their basic needs adds even more pressure. Another factor that causes problems is deforestation.Plants and trees are useful for humans and animals because they turn the CO2 (Carbon dioxide) in the air into O2 (Oxygen). Therefore, cutting down the trees increases the amount of CO2 which increases the heat around us and affects the temperature. The last cause is the greenhouse. A greenhouse is made mostly of glass and is used to grow plants. The glass keeps some of the temperature inside. The thicker the glass, the more heat it keeps.

It is a very interesting and useful movie about global warming; I suggest seeing it, giving your opinion and telling me who the speaker is in it.
In the past, there was a balance in nature while nowadays, many hazardous and harmful things harm this balance and destroy this nature. One of these imbalance things that threaten the environment and the world is Global Warming. Global warming is the rise in temperature of the earth’s atmosphere. This increasing in temperature is because of many causes; manmade and natural. Natural causes are such as volcanoes, earthquakes and hurricanes. These causes changed the balance of the environment and raised the temperature of the earth. The other causes are manmade causes and these affected on the temperature more than the natural factors. As the global warming has causes, it is also has many effects on the environment. These effects are very dangerous and can demolish and destroy the earth in the near future. Therefore, from all these things we can see that global warming is a serious global issue and it is the most important problem that faces the world.
My nickname is BeshiBeshi and I was born in Umm Al Quwain in 1986. I lived in UAQ for 11 years and then I transferred to live in Abu Dhabi. My father is a policeman and my mother is housewife. I have one sister and four brothers. My sister is older than me and all my brothers are younger than me. I am a medical lab student and all my subjects about medicine and about laboratories. Additionally to these subjects, I study English and I am in level two. English is the language of our era. It is very important language which connects people with each other and every body need to learn it. In this level, I have a quite small project to do about global warming which is a serious global issue threatening our life and especially our grandchildren’s’ lives in the future.
